Fashion | Beauty Etiquette

"I am an artist, RESPECT please".

As I've stated before, Fashions are trends, Style is a manner. Everyone has their own personal idea of what they consider "fashion" and "beauty," but that does not mean you should degrade the next persons idea of fashion and beauty.

The negative comments that I read about myself and other bloggers blogs and IG's, etc. upsets my soul. It is definitely ok to give constructive criticism, we all learn something new everyday, but to disrespect another person is unacceptable! Constructive criticism is meant to improve someone, not personally attack them.

Here's a couple tips on how to give constructive criticism in the fashion|beauty world.

1). Approach. When you approach someone, make sure you have good intentions.

2.) Don't Get Too Personal. You should never give unwanted criticism on someone's looks or personality.

Example: You're following a makeup artist, and he|she just posted their makeup of the night and you're not too fond of the entire look. One should not comment with:

"OMG! That contour makes you look like a man. You'd look so much better without all that crap. I'd never wear that".

Instead you could simply say... "Love the makeup! The contour is a little too heavy for my liking, but it looks great on you!" (See how you simply stated your opinion while still respecting that person?).

Have you ever thought about reminding yourself that that person is a human? A human with feelings? And that they obviously like how their makeup looks. It takes a lot of guts to post to social media with so many trolls behind computer screens. The next time you judge someone, think to yourself. "Would I be brave enough to post this?".

Moral of the story: "The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before".
