Pregnancy Update: Week 33

“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes”. ~Hugh Prather

It’s been a while since I’ve done a KUWK so today I want to share my 33 week pregnancy update with you. Let’s just say, its been a rocky time and here’s what I’ve learned and experienced thus far.

1. Self-care has always been important, but even more so when your body is now developing a baby. Here’s just a couple of things that I do to make sure I’m taking care of myself and my little one:

- Taking time to relax with a cup of Yogi Mother To Be Tea and a book.

- Once a week I take a bath with a few drops of lavender essential oil and a cup of epsom salt. This helps me to get a good nights sleep and relaxes my aching muscles.

- Play classical children’s music to my belly.

 - Taking some take away from work.

- Other times I just literally sit in a quiet space and reflect.

2. Remember Vivian Green’s ‘Emotional Rollercoaster” song? Emotional rollercoaster definitely describes my life. One day I feel like Beyoncé the next day I feel like Britney circa 2007. I had something very life changing happen to me last month that affected my emotions even more but that’s a different story for a different day that I’ll share when I’m ready.

3. We’re our own worst critic. My first trimester was definitely less than desirable. Constant fatigue, mood swings, etc. Then came my second trimester where life got back to normal. Now I’m in the final stretch and I literally feel unattractive in every way. To get rid of the negative thoughts I’ve been writing little reminder notes to myself to let me know that I’m beautiful in every way.

4. I already have an 8 year old son, but for some strange reason I’m petrified of having a new baby boy join our crew. I constantly wonder; “How will I love this new baby when it’s just been Cash and I for so long?”, “What happens if I start to like the new baby more than Cash?”. There’s just so many concerns I have so if you have more than one child I’d loved to hear your perspective!

5. Baby shopping isn’t what it was 8/9 years ago. I literally feel like a first time Mom all over again! I don’t know what I’m shopping for and things seem to be 3 times more expensive this time around.

I know I haven’t been posting much on the blog, but considering big life changes are happening soon I’ve been taking more time to prepare for the baby, care for myself, spend time with family and keep my businesses on track. The great part is, I’ll be having baby boy just in time to slay for Fall and I'll be back to posting more consistently. Thanks for reading and share your pregnancy experience or any advice below :).

Q+A Time With Kaiye

Happy Wednesday!

If you're subscribed to the SBK mailing list, you received a survey request about an upcoming ebook I was working on. Needless to say, creating an ebook on my own was not as simple and easy as everyone makes it seem and Canva definitely failed me several times. So when plan A fails it's time to move on to plan B.

I'm new to making videos, quite frankly I'm not much of a camera person but I thought it would be fun to start doing weekly live videos on Facebook. You can join me every Friday on FB at 12:30PM CST for the Champagne Lifestyle with Kaiye where we'll discuss all things fashion, interior design and beauty related. Drop your name, city and questions below and I'll cover them!

Be sure to "Like" SBK on FB to join the discussion at Styled By Kaiye.

Success vs. Doubt

"The difference between successful people's and others is how long they spend time feeling sorry for themselves". ~Barbara Corcoran

Happy Monday! Well I'm not exactly happy it's Monday considering the time jumped forward and now I'm going to be running around like a lost child in a frenzy for the next two weeks adapting to the change. But on a brighter note, Spring is almost here!

Now back to the quote. Not only do I set daily goals for myself, I like to set weekly goals as well. This weeks goal? To take baby steps to work on my Imposter Syndrome. Yes, you read that correctly, I wasn't familiar with the term either until I was having an emotional breakdown last week venting to a friend. Thanks Diana for always listening to my 101 problems ;). So what exactly is "Imposter Syndrome"?

Impostor syndrome (also known as impostor phenomenon or fraud syndrome) is a concept describing high-achieving individuals who are marked by an inability to internalize their accomplishments and a persistent fear of being exposed as a "fraud".

The past several months have been quite the whirlwind for me business wise (in a good way) and unfortunately I haven't prepared myself for all of the acknowledge that was bound to come with all of my hard work I've been putting in. This weeks small goal is to celebrate all of my small wins because I deserve it!

Do you suffer from Imposter Syndrome? Look it up and then give me your take!

The Kickass Woman's Manifesto

As you've noticed, I'm really big on quotes so when I came across "The Kickass Woman's Manifesto For Sparklicious Living" I knew I had to share it with my Glamourland babes! I hope it gives you that extra kick you need on this Monday :D.

- I've gone through hell and kept walking. I know my weaknesses.

- It to me a long time to believe that. I've worked through my "unworthiness".

- And no one needs to convince me of that anymore. I've dropped the illusion of not enough.

- I have imperfections but that doesn't make me IMperfect, I am PERECT as I am.

I am ME

- I thought I was lost & alone, but now I realize that I was always with me.

2017 Goal Setting Game

"Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes time. Vision with action can change the world." ~Joel A Barker

Hey, hey, HEY! 2017 is right around the corner and I have already set my 2017 goals in place and I'm so ready to take on the new year! I think it is so important to write down and set goals for yourself. Speaking your dreams into existence is KEY! I recently did a goal setting game with a friend and thought I'd shared it with my Glamourland babes to help you get a jump start on your 2017 goals. Hope you enjoy!

Wheel of Fortune

Formulated into a goal setting game by Denis Waitley, this activity requires you to draw a big circle and then divide it into several slices – much like what you would do with a pizza!

These slices or sections represent the different areas of your life.

Each section stands for a life category like health, finances, education, career, relationships, spirituality, and community.

Since these categories are of relevance to you, you will need to write down all the goals you wish to achieve under them.

Based on your list, choose one category you would like to focus on, perhaps one which you have not given that much importance to.

Meditate on it.

Let your thoughts and feelings flow.

Think of more ways by which you can achieve such goals and put them into writing.

Next, hang this wheel on the wall.

Make it visible to everyone in the family

This will remind you to keep track of these goals and make progress on them.

Once you have fulfilled a certain goal, move on the next

Before you know it, you will have addressed many areas of your life.

Winter Dreaming

The weather has been kind of icky here in Wisconsin lately, but needless to say it is officially Winter! While I'm not looking forward to stepping out into weather that will make my face hurt, I'm definitely looking forward to more layering and hot drinks. Now to the more important things...

Being a dreamer is sometimes a mind tiring task, but always remember, if you believe it you can achieve it. Never be afraid to share your ideas with the universe. This weeks motivating quote comes from Mr. Walt Disney.

“First, think. Second, believe. Third, dream. And finally, dare.”

Ahhh, the four step rule I live by everyday. Will you incorporate this four step rule in your daily thinking?

When Is The Right Time?

Hello all! Sorry I haven't posted in a week, on top of being sick (I probably have the weakest immune system known to man) I've been busy, busy, busy! When you're a full time entrepreneur (or in my case serial entrepreneur) there is no such thing as having "free time." I've been trying to figure out the perfect timing and perfect plan to act on all of my ideas and then I realized there is no such thing as the "perfect" time. With that being said, this weeks quote comes from Mark Hansen.

"Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles, and less than perfect conditions. So what? Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident, and more and more successful". ~Mark Victor Hansen

Remember, if your dreams don't scare you they aren't big enough!
