"Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare". ~Audre Lorde
Happy Monday lovelies, I hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend with friends and family!
Today I want to talk about the importance of self care with you, and a new exclusive Marie Hunter product line I'm launching with it. A couple weeks ago on IG I posted a quote "If Britney can make it through 2007, you can get through today" and I captioned how I'd been in some kind of a funky mood during that time, what I didn't know is that a few days later I would have a miscarriage.
As women we have a lot on our shoulders, from taking care of home and family, to work and running businesses that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. On 12/12/16 I lost a piece of me, and for that entire week I blamed myself. When man plans, God laughs and I remembered that everything happens for a reason and this was my wake up call. I've loved the name for Cree for quite sometime and want to make an impact with my story.
I'm launching Cree by Marie Hunter early next year in memory of my unborn child, it is an exclusive bath and candle collection early next year to promote self care. For every item sold, MHB will donate $1 to Miscarriage Matters, INC. What is self care? Self care is care provided for you, by you. It's about identifying your own needs and taking steps to meet them. It is taking the time to do some of the activities that nurture you. Self care is about taking proper care of yourself and treating yourself as kindly as you treat others.
Every 1 in 4 women will experience a miscarriage, and while there is life after tragedy we need time, balance and support to truly heal. To learn more about Cree by Marie Hunter visit mariehunterbeauty.com and know that I am with you along the way.
