It's finally Fri-Yay! I'm officially at 27 weeks of pregnancy and this week has been trying! I'm currently working on expanding SBK but this massive heat wave this past week has left me anxious, irritable and extremely hot! I even went out for a walk one morning at around 6:30 am and it was already 80 degrees, we all know I'm anti summer :(.
Here are a few summer tips for the pregnant mommas that I recommend to stay cool this weekend:
- STAY HYDRATED! My S'well water bottle has been my best friend. While I hate lugging the huge thing around, the cool marble print design makes me feel fancy and it keeps drinks cold for 24 hours.
- I've noticed my feet have been swelling a little bit lately, making all my cute heels uncomfortable. I've also been craving a ton of salty food which is a NO GO. Cut back or if you can, completely cut out the salt and keep your feet alleviated.
- Save outdoor tasks for early mornings and evenings. The midday heat is torture!
- Since drinking is frowned upon (although I may or may not have had a glass of wine here or there) I found a good Mocktail recipe to sip on while chilling in the shade. Combine 6 ounces frozen coconut yogurt, 1/2 a frozen banana, 1/2 of a 20-ounce can of crushed pineapple, and 1 cup milk; blend until smooth.
- And lastly, SUNSCREEN! I wear hats a lot which works for me plus sunscreen in my makeup or moisturizer.
